timer_delete[_sync]() replaces del_timer[_sync](). Convert the whole tree
over and remove the historical wrapper inlines.
Conversion was done with coccinelle plus manual fixups where necessary.

Pull Rust updates from Miguel Ojeda:
"Toolchain and infrastructure:
- Extract the 'pin-init' API from the 'kernel' crate and make it into
a standalone crate.
In order to do this, the contents are rearranged so that they can
easily be kept in sync with the version maintained out-of-tree that
other projects have started to use too (or plan to, like QEMU).
This will reduce the maintenance burden for Benno, who will now
have his own sub-tree, and will simplify future expected changes
like the move to use 'syn' to simplify the implementation.
- Add '#[test]'-like support based on KUnit.
We already had doctests support based on KUnit, which takes the
examples in our Rust documentation and runs them under KUnit.
Now, we are adding the beginning of the support for "normal" tests,
similar to those the '#[test]' tests in userspace Rust. For
instance:

Unlike with doctests, the 'assert*!'s do not map to the KUnit
assertion APIs yet.
- Check Rust signatures at compile time for functions called from C
by name.
In particular, introduce a new '#[export]' macro that can be placed
in the Rust function definition. It will ensure that the function
declaration on the C side matches the signature on the Rust
function:

The macro essentially forces the compiler to compare the types of
the actual Rust function and the 'bindgen'-processed C signature.
These cases are rare so far. In the future, we may consider
introducing another tool, 'cbindgen', to generate C headers
automatically. Even then, having these functions explicitly marked
may be a good idea anyway.
- Enable the 'raw_ref_op' Rust feature: it is already stable, and
allows us to use the new '&raw' syntax, avoiding a couple macros.
After everyone has migrated, we will disallow the macros.
- Pass the correct target to 'bindgen' on Usermode Linux.
- Fix 'rusttest' build in macOS.
'kernel' crate:
- New 'hrtimer' module: add support for setting up intrusive timers
without allocating when starting the timer. Add support for
'Pin<Box<_>>', 'Arc<_>', 'Pin<&_>' and 'Pin<&mut _>' as pointer
types for use with timer callbacks. Add support for setting clock
source and timer mode.
- New 'dma' module: add a simple DMA coherent allocator abstraction
and a test sample driver.
- 'list' module: make the linked list 'Cursor' point between
elements, rather than at an element, which is more convenient to us
and allows for cursors to empty lists; and document it with
examples of how to perform common operations with the provided
methods.
- 'str' module: implement a few traits for 'BStr' as well as the
'strip_prefix()' method.
- 'sync' module: add 'Arc::as_ptr'.
- 'alloc' module: add 'Box::into_pin'.
- 'error' module: extend the 'Result' documentation, including a few
examples on different ways of handling errors, a warning about
using methods that may panic, and links to external documentation.
'macros' crate:
- 'module' macro: add the 'authors' key to support multiple authors.
The original key will be kept until everyone has migrated.
Documentation:
- Add error handling sections.

- Add Danilo Krummrich as reviewer of the Rust "subsystem".

This patch makes functions that were provided for aqr107 applicable to
aqr105, or replaces generic functions with specific ones. Since the aqr105
was introduced before NBASE-T was defined (or 802.3bz), there are a number
of vendor specific registers involved in the definition of the
advertisement, in auto-negotiation and in the setting of the speed. The
functions have been written following the downstream driver for TN4010
cards with aqr105 PHY, and use code from aqr107 functions wherever it
seemed to make sense.

This patch will allow to use a swnode/fwnode defined for a phy_device. The
MDIO bus (mii_bus) needs to contain nodes for the PHY devices, named
"ethernet-phy@i", with i being the MDIO address (0 .. PHY_MAX_ADDR - 1).
The fwnode is only attached to the phy_device if there isn't already an
fwnode attached.
fwnode_get_named_child_node will increase the usage counter of the fwnode.
However, no new code is needed to decrease the counter again, since this is
already implemented in the phy_device_release function.

If we fail to configure the MAC or PCS according to the desired mode,
do not allow the network link to come up until we have successfully
configured the MAC and PCS. This improves phylink's behaviour when an
error occurs.

The SFP module's eeprom and internals are accessible through an i2c bus.
It is possible that the SFP might be connected to an SMBus-only
controller, such as the one found in some PHY devices in the VSC85xx
family.
Introduce a set of sfp read/write ops that are going to be used if the
i2c bus is only capable of doing smbus byte accesses.
As Single-byte SMBus transaction go against SFF-8472 and breaks the
atomicity for diagnostics data access, hwmon is disabled in the case
of SMBus access.
Moreover, as this may cause other instabilities, print a warning at
probe time to indicate that the setup may be unreliable because of the
hardware design.
As hwmon may be disabled for both broken EEPROM and smbus, the warnings
are udpated accordingly.

Some MACs require the PHY receive clock to be running to complete setup
actions. This may fail if the PHY has negotiated EEE, the MAC supports
receive clock stop, and the link has entered LPI state. Provide a pair
of APIs that MAC drivers can use to temporarily block the PHY disabling
the receive clock.

When the system is suspended, the PHY may be placed in low-power mode
by setting the BMCR 0.11 Power down bit. IEEE 802.3 states that the
behaviour of the PHY in this state is implementation specific, and
the PHY is not required to meet the RX_CLK and TX_CLK requirements.
Essentially, this means that a PHY may stop the clocks that it is
generating while in power down state.
However, MACs exist which require the clocks from the PHY to be running
in order to properly resume. phylink_prepare_resume() provides them
with a way to clear the Power down bit early.
Note, however, that IEEE 802.3 gives PHYs up to 500ms grace before the
transmit and receive clocks meet the requirements after clearing the
power down bit.
Add a resume preparation function, which will ensure that the receive
clock from the PHY is appropriately configured while resuming.

The net fixed phy driver does not require the creation of a platform
device. Originally, this approach was chosen for simplicity when the
driver was first implemented.
With the introduction of the lightweight faux device interface, we now
have a more appropriate alternative. Migrate the device to utilize the
faux bus, given that the platform device it previously created was not
a real one anyway. This will get rid of the fake platform device.

From what I can tell the .get_fixed_state pointer in the phylink structure
hasn't been used since commit 5c05c1dbb177 ("net: phylink, dsa: eliminate
phylink_fixed_state_cb()") . Since I can't find any users for it we might
as well just drop the pointer.

When CONFIG_OF_MDIO is not defined the index for selecting the transmit
amplitude voltage for 100BASE-TX is set to 0, but it should be -1, if there
is no need to modify the transmit amplitude voltage. Move initialization of
the index from dp83822_of_init to dp8382x_probe.

Realtek RTL8211F has a "PHY-mode" EEE support which interferes with an
IEEE 802.3 compliant implementation. This mode defaults to enabled, and
results in the MAC receive path not seeing the link transition to LPI
state.
Fix this by disabling PHY-mode EEE.

Commit 809265fe96fe ("net: phy: c45: remove local advertisement
parameter from genphy_c45_eee_is_active") stopped reading the local
advertisement from the PHY earlier in this development cycle, which
broke "ethtool --set-eee ethX eee off".
When ethtool is used to set EEE off, genphy_c45_eee_is_active()
indicates that EEE was active if the link partner reported an
advertisement, which causes phylib to set phydev->enable_tx_lpi on
link up, despite our local advertisement in hardware being empty.
However, phydev->advertising_eee is preserved while EEE is turned off,
which leads to genphy_c45_eee_is_active() incorrectly reporting that
EEE is active.
Fix it by checking phydev->eee_cfg.eee_enabled, and if clear,
immediately indicate that EEE is not active.

In bcm_ptp_perout_locked, the driver rejects requests which have
PTP_PEROUT_PHASE set. This appears to be an attempt to reject any
unsupported flags. Unfortunately, this only checks one flag, but does not
protect against PTP_PEROUT_ONE_SHOT, or any future flags which may be
added.
Fix the check to ensure that no flag other than the supported
PTP_PEROUT_DUTY_CYCLE is set.

Use genphy_loopback() to disable loopback like ksz9031_set_loopback().
This way disable loopback is implemented only once within
genphy_loopback() and the set_loopback() implementations look similar.
Also fix comment about msleep() in the out-of loopback case which is not
executed in the out-of loopback case.

phy_loopback() leaves it to the PHY driver to select the speed of the
loopback mode. Thus, the speed of the loopback mode depends on the PHY
driver in use.
Add support for speed selection to phy_loopback() to enable loopback
with defined speeds. Ensure that link up is signaled if speed changes
as speed is not allowed to change during link up. Link down and up is
necessary for a new speed.

PHY drivers support loopback mode, but it is not possible to select the
speed of the loopback mode. The speed is chosen by the set_loopback()
operation of the PHY driver. Same is valid for genphy_loopback().
There are PHYs that support loopback with different speeds. Extend
set_loopback() to make loopback speed selection possible.

Phylink has internal code to get the MAC capabilities of a given PHY
interface (what are the supported speed and duplex).
Extract that into phy_caps, but use the link_capa for conversion. Add an
internal phylink helper for the link caps -> mac caps conversion, and
use this in phylink_caps_to_linkmodes().

phylink_caps_to_linkmodes() is used to derive a list of linkmodes that
can be conceivably exposed using a given set of speeds and duplex
through phylink's MAC capabilities.
This list can be derived from the link_caps array in phy_caps, provided
we convert the MAC capabilities into a LINK_CAPA bitmask first.
Introduce an internal phylink helper phylink_caps_to_link_caps() to
convert from MAC capabilities into phy_caps, then phy_caps_linkmodes()

phylink allows MAC drivers to report the capabilities in terms of speed,
duplex and pause support. This is done through a dedicated set of enum
values in the form of the MAC_ capabilities. They are very close to what
the LINK_CAPA_xxx can express, with the difference that LINK_CAPA don't
have any information about Pause/Asym Pause support.
To prepare converting phylink to using the phy_caps, add the mapping
between MAC capabilities and phy_caps. While doing so, we move the
phylink_caps_params array up a bit to simplify future commits.

When phylink creates a fixed-link configuration, it finds a matching
linkmode to set as the advertised, lp_advertising and supported modes
based on the speed and duplex of the fixed link.
Use the newly introduced phy_caps_lookup to get these modes instead of
phy_lookup_settings(). This has the side effect that the matched
settings and configured linkmodes may now contain several linkmodes (the
intersection of supported linkmodes from the phylink settings and the
linkmodes that match speed/duplex) instead of the one from
phy_lookup_settings().

When configuring PHY advertising with autoneg disabled, we lookd for an
exact linkmode to advertise and configure for the requested Speed and
Duplex, specially at or over 1G.
Using phy_caps_lookup allows us to build a list of the supported
linkmodes at that speed that we can advertise instead of the first mode
that matches.

As the link_caps array is efficient for <speed,duplex> lookups,
implement a function for speed/duplex lookups that matches a given
mask. This replicates to some extent the phy_lookup_settings()
behaviour, matching full link_capabilities instead of a single linkmode.
phy.c's phy_santize_settings() and phylink's
phylink_ethtool_ksettings_set() performs such lookup using the
phy_settings table, but are only interested in the actual speed/duplex
that were matched, rathet than the individual linkmode.
Similar to phy_lookup_settings(), the newly introduced phy_caps_lookup()
will run through the link_caps[] array by descending speed/duplex order.
If the link_capabilities for a given <speed/duplex> tuple intersects the
passed linkmodes, we consider that a match.
Similar to phy_lookup_settings(), we also allow passing an 'exact'
boolean, allowing non-exact match. Here, we MUST always match the
linkmodes mask, but we allow matching on lower speed settings.

In several occasions, phylib needs to lookup a set of matching speed and
duplex against a given linkmode set. Instead of relying on the
phy_settings array and thus iterate over the whole linkmodes list, use
the link_capabilities array to lookup these matches, as we aren't
interested in the actual link setting that matches but rather the speed
and duplex for that setting.

Convert the __set_linkmode_max_speed to use the link_capabilities array.
This makes it easy to clamp the linkmodes to a given max speed.
Introduce a new helper phy_caps_linkmode_max_speed to replace the
previous one that used phy_settings.

The canonical definition for all the link modes is in linux/ethtool.h,
which is complemented by the link_mode_params array stored in
net/ethtool/common.h . That array contains all the metadata about each
of these modes, including the Speed and Duplex information.
Phylib and phylink needs that information as well for internal
management of the link, which was done by duplicating that information
in locally-stored arrays and lookup functions. This makes it easy for
developpers adding new modes to forget modifying phylib and phylink
accordingly.
However, the link_mode_params array in net/ethtool/common.c is fairly
inefficient to search through, as it isn't sorted in any manner. Phylib
and phylink perform a lot of lookup operations, mostly to filter modes
by speed and/or duplex.
We therefore introduce the link_caps private array in phy_caps.c, that
indexes linkmodes in a more efficient manner. Each element associated a
tuple <speed, duplex> to a bitfield of all the linkmodes runs at these
speed/duplex.
We end-up with an array that's fairly short, easily addressable and that
it optimised for the typical use-cases of phylib/phylink.
That array is initialized at the same time as phylib. As the
link_mode_params array is part of the net stack, which phylink depends
on, it should always be accessible from phylib.

In the `module!` macro, the `author` field is currently of type `String`.
Since modules can have multiple authors, this limitation prevents
specifying more than one.
Add an `authors` field as `Option<Vec<String>>` to allow creating
modules with multiple authors, and change the documentation and all
current users to use it. Eventually, the single `author` field may
be removed.
[ The `modinfo` key needs to still be `author`; otherwise, tooling
may not work properly, e.g.:
$ modinfo --author samples/rust/rust_print.ko

I have also kept the original `author` field (undocumented), so
that we can drop it more easily in a kernel cycle or two.

TJA1120B/TJA1121B can achieve a stable operation of SGMII after
a startup event by putting the SGMII PCS into power down mode and
restart afterwards.
It is necessary to put the SGMII PCS into power down mode and back up.

The most recent sillicon versions of TJA1120 and TJA1121 can achieve
full silicon performance by putting the PHY in managed mode.
It is necessary to apply these PHY writes before link gets established.
Application of this fix is required after restart of device and wakeup
from sleep.

Due to pin strapping the PHY maybe disabled per default. TJA1102 devices
can be enabled by setting the PHY_EN bit. Support is provided for TJA1102S
devices but can be easily added for TJA1102 too.

phylink_init_eee() is currently unused.
It was last added in 2019 by
commit 86e58135bc4a ("net: phylink: add phylink_init_eee() helper")
but it didn't actually wire a use up.
It had previous been removed in 2017 by
commit 939eae25d9a5 ("phylink: remove phylink_init_eee()").
Remove it again.
