2011-11-15oom: do not kill tasks with oom_score_adj OOM_SCORE_ADJ_MINMichal Hocko
Commit c9f01245 ("oom: remove oom_disable_count") has removed the oom_disable_count counter which has been used for early break out from oom_badness so we could never select a task with oom_score_adj set to OOM_SCORE_ADJ_MIN (oom disabled). Now that the counter is gone we are always going through heuristics calculation and we always return a non zero positive value. This means that we can end up killing a task with OOM disabled because it is indistinguishable from regular tasks with 1% resp. CAP_SYS_ADMIN tasks with 3% usage of memory or tasks with oom_score_adj set but OOM enabled. Let's break out early if the task should have OOM disabled. 2011-11-15drivers/misc/eeprom: fix dependecy on 'PPC_MPC5200_GPIO'Paul Bolle
The driver for the DigsyMTC display configuration EEPROMs device got added by commit 469dded183 ("misc/eeprom: add eeprom access driver for digsy_mtc board"). Its Kconfig symbol depends on PPC_MPC5200_GPIO. But at the time that driver got added PPC_MPC5200_GPIO was already renamed to GPIO_MPC5200, by commit 6eae1ace68 ("gpio: Move mpc5200 gpio driver to drivers/gpio"). So make this driver depend on GPIO_MPC5200. And since GPIO_MPC5200 itself implies that GPIOLIB is set, that dependency can be dropped. 2011-11-15sparc: Stash orig_i0 into %g6 instead of %g2David S. Miller
As per the comments added by this commit, %g2 turns out to not be a usable place to save away orig_i0 for syscall restart handling. In fact all of %g2, %g3, %g4, and %g5 are assumed to be saved across a system call by various bits of code in glibc. %g1 can't be used because that holds the syscall number, which would need to be saved and restored for syscall restart handling too, and that would only compound our problems :-) This leaves us with %g6 and %g7 which are for "system use". %g7 is used as the "thread register" by glibc, but %g6 is used as a compiler and assembler temporary scratch register. 2011-11-15PM / driver core: disable device's runtime PM during shutdownPeter Chen
There may be an issue when the user issue "reboot/shutdown" command, then the device has shut down its hardware, after that, this runtime-pm featured device's driver will probably be scheduled to do its suspend routine, and at its suspend routine, it may access hardware, but the device has already shutdown physically, then the system hang may be occurred. I ran out this issue using an auto-suspend supported USB devices, like 3G modem, keyboard. The usb runtime suspend routine may be scheduled after the usb controller has been shut down, and the usb runtime suspend routine will try to suspend its roothub(controller), it will access register, then the system hang occurs as the controller is shutdown. 2011-11-15rt2x00: Fix sleep-while-atomic bug in powersaving code.Gertjan van Wingerde
The generic powersaving code that determines after reception of a frame whether the device should go back to sleep or whether is could stay awake was calling rt2x00lib_config directly from RX tasklet context. On a number of the devices this call can actually sleep, due to having to confirm that the sleeping commands have been executed successfully. Fix this by moving the call to rt2x00lib_config to a workqueue call. 2011-11-14sparc: Fix handling of orig_i0 wrt. debugging when restarting syscalls.David S. Miller
Although we provide a proper way for a debugger to control whether syscall restart occurs, we run into problems because orig_i0 is not saved and restored properly. Luckily we can solve this problem without having to make debuggers aware of the issue. Across system calls, several registers are considered volatile and can be safely clobbered. Therefore we use the pt_regs save area of one of those registers, %g2, as a place to save and restore orig_i0. The SH7372 PM domain initialization routine calls pd_power_up() that executes the domain's .resume() callback, if present, and for the A4R domain this callback attepmts to restore the INTCS state from uninitialized data. To avoid that, introduce __pd_power_up() that will only execute the domain's .resume() callback if its second argument is 'true' and make the SH7372 PM domain initialization use it with 'false' as its second argument. In ESA mode STCKF is not defined even if the facility bit is enabled. To prevent an illegal operation we must also check if we run a 64 bit kernel. 'readelf -n' on the s390 vmlinux file generates lots of warnings about corrupt notes. The reason is that the 'NOTE' program header has incorrect file and memory sizes. The problem is that the section following the NOTES section do not switch to a different phdr and they get added to the NOTE program section.
