2023-03-20drm/bridge: dw-hdmi-gp-audio: Convert to platform remove callback returning voidUwe Kleine-König
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns void. Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove callback to the void returning variant. 2023-03-20drm/bridge: adv7533: Fix adv7533_mode_valid for adv7533 and adv7535Adam Ford
When dynamically switching lanes was removed, the intent of the code was to check to make sure that higher speed items used 4 lanes, but it had the unintended consequence of removing the slower speeds for 4-lane users. This attempts to remedy this by doing a check to see that the max frequency doesn't exceed the chip limit, and a second check to make sure that the max bit-rate doesn't exceed the number of lanes * max bit rate / lane. 2023-02-06drm/bridge: panel: Set orientation on panel_bridge connectorJohn Keeping
Commit 15b9ca1641f0 ("drm: Config orientation property if panel provides it") added a helper to set the panel orientation early but only connected this for drm_bridge_connector, which constructs a panel bridge with DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR and creates the connector itself. When the DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR flag is not specified and the panel_bridge creates its own connector the orientation is not set unless the panel does it in .get_modes which is too late and leads to a warning splat from __drm_mode_object_add() because the device is already registered. Call the necessary function to set add the orientation property when the connector is created so that it is available before the device is registered.
