TPS80031 driver was upstreamed back in 2013 and never got a user. I noticed that driver is abandoned while was about to write a patch to switch it to a new power-off API (that I'm working on). Driver requires platform data that nobody provides. Instead of changing the dead code, let's remove it. 2021-10-23regulator: Don't error out fixed regulator in regulator_sync_voltage()Dmitry Osipenko
Fixed regulator can't change voltage and regulator_sync_voltage() returns -EINVAL in this case. Make regulator_sync_voltage() to succeed for regulators that are incapable to change voltage. On NVIDIA Tegra power management driver needs to sync voltage and we have one device (Trimslice) that uses fixed regulator which is getting synced. The syncing error isn't treated as fatal, but produces a noisy error message. This patch silences that error. After this driver was converted to gpiod, clang started warning: vers/regulator/lp872x.c:689:57: error: implicit conversion from enumeration type 'enum lp872x_dvs_state' to different enumeration type 'enum gpiod_flags' [-Werror,-Wenum-conversion] dvs->gpio = devm_gpiod_get_optional(lp->dev, "ti,dvs", pinstate); ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ^~~~~~~~ 1 error generated. lp872x_dvs_state was updated to have values from gpiod_flags but this is not enough to avoid an implicit conversion warning from either GCC or clang (although GCC enables this warning under -Wextra instead of -Wall like clang so it is not seen under normal builds). Eliminate lp872x_dvs_state in favor of using gpiod_flags everywhere so that there is no more warning about an implicit conversion. As with commit 8b52d8be86d72308 ("loop: reorder loop_exit"), unregister_blkdev() needs to be called first in order to avoid calling brd_alloc() from brd_probe() after brd_del_one() from brd_exit(). Then, we can avoid holding global mutex during add_disk()/del_gendisk() as with commit 1c500ad706383f1a ("loop: reduce the loop_ctl_mutex scope"). A new warning in clang points out a few places in this driver where a bitwise OR is being used with boolean types: drivers/input/touchscreen.c:81:17: warning: use of bitwise '|' with boolean operands [-Wbitwise-instead-of-logical] data_present = touchscreen_get_prop_u32(dev, "touchscreen-min-x", ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This use of a bitwise OR is intentional, as bitwise operations do not short circuit, which allows all the calls to touchscreen_get_prop_u32() to happen so that the last parameter is initialized while coalescing the results of the calls to make a decision after they are all evaluated. To make this clearer to the compiler, use the '|=' operator to assign the result of each touchscreen_get_prop_u32() call to data_present, which keeps the meaning of the code the same but makes it obvious that every one of these calls is expected to happen. 2021-10-15Input: snvs_pwrkey - add clk handlingUwe Kleine-König
On i.MX7S and i.MX8M* (but not i.MX6*) the pwrkey device has an associated clock. Accessing the registers requires that this clock is enabled. Binding the driver on at least i.MX7S and i.MX8MP while not having the clock enabled results in a complete hang of the machine. (This usually only happens if snvs_pwrkey is built as a module and the rtc-snvs driver isn't already bound because at bootup the required clk is on and only gets disabled when the clk framework disables unused clks late during boot.) This completes the fix in commit 135be16d3505 ("ARM: dts: imx7s: add snvs clock to pwrkey"). 2021-10-15drm/hyperv: Fix double mouse pointersDexuan Cui
Hyper-V supports a hardware cursor feature. It is not used by Linux VM, but the Hyper-V host still draws a point as an extra mouse pointer, which is unwanted, especially when Xorg is running. The hyperv_fb driver uses synthvid_send_ptr() to hide the unwanted pointer. When the hyperv_drm driver was developed, the function synthvid_send_ptr() was not copied from the hyperv_fb driver. Fix the issue by adding the function into hyperv_drm. 2021-10-15drm/edid: In connector_bad_edid() cap num_of_ext by num_blocks readDouglas Anderson
In commit e11f5bd8228f ("drm: Add support for DP 1.4 Compliance edid corruption test") the function connector_bad_edid() started assuming that the memory for the EDID passed to it was big enough to hold `edid[0x7e] + 1` blocks of data (1 extra for the base block). It completely ignored the fact that the function was passed `num_blocks` which indicated how much memory had been allocated for the EDID. Let's fix this by adding a bounds check. This is important for handling the case where there's an error in the first block of the EDID. In that case we will call connector_bad_edid() without having re-allocated memory based on `edid[0x7e]`.
