2025-02-25arm64: dts: imx8mp-skov: use I2C5 for DDCAhmad Fatoum
The HDMI DDC pads can be muxed either to an i.MX I2C controller or to a limited I2C controller within the Designware HDMI bridge. So far, the pads were muxed to the HDMI bridge, but the i.MX I2C controller is the better choice: - The Designware HDMI I2C controller doesn't support multi-byte requests and the Linux driver refuses[1] transfers to/from address 0x37, but these are required for display/brightness configuration, - The driver doesn't support I2C bus recovery, but some HDMI panels used with the board can be flaky and require it. As the i.MX I2C controller and driver don't have either of these limitations, let's make use of it instead. The Skov i.MX8MP boards are passively cooled and heatsink is specced for continuous operation at 1.2 GHz only. Short bouts of 1.6 GHz are ok, but these should be invoked intentionally, not as part of suspend/resume cycles. Therefore, configure RUN frequency as 850 mV and remove the higher voltage operating points from those permissible for suspend. The PMIC voltage constraints in the device tree currently describe the permissible range of the PMIC. This is unnecessary as this information already exists in the driver and wrong as it doesn't account for board-specific constraints, e.g. a 2.1V on VDD_SOC would fry the SoC and a maximum voltage of 3.4V on the VDD_3V3 rail may be unexpected across the board. Fix this by adjusting constraints to reflect the board limits. This fixes the LDO5 regulator handling of the pca9450 driver by taking the status of the SD_VSEL into account to determine which configuration register is used for the voltage setting. Even without this change there is no functional issue, as the code for switching the voltage in sdhci.c currently switches both, the VSELECT/SD_VSEL signal and the regulator voltage at the same time and doesn't run into an invalid corner case. We should still make sure, that we always use the correct register when controlling the regulator. At least in U-Boot this fixes an actual bug where the wrong IO voltage is used and it makes sure that the correct voltage can be read from sysfs. The OSM-S i.MX93 SoM doesn't have the VSELECT signal of the USDHC controller connected to the PMICs SD_VSEL input. Instead SD_VSEL is hardwired to low level. Let the driver know this in order to use the proper register for reading and writing the voltage level. This fixes SD card access with the latest hardware revision of the Kontron OSM-S i.MX93 SoM. 2025-02-24arm64: dts: ti: k3-j722s-evm: Fix USB2.0_MUX_SEL to select Type-CHrushikesh Salunke
J722S SOC has two usb controllers USB0 and USB1. USB0 is brought out on the EVM as a stacked USB connector which has one Type-A and one Type-C port. These Type-A and Type-C ports are connected to MUX so only one of them can be enabled at a time. Commit under Fixes, tries to enable the USB0 instance of USB to interface with the Type-C port via the USB hub, by configuring the USB2.0_MUX_SEL to GPIO_ACTIVE_HIGH. But it is observed on J722S-EVM that Type-A port is enabled instead of Type-C port. Fix this by setting USB2.0_MUX_SEL to GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW to enable Type-C port. The Haikou carrierboard has an EEPROM on LVDS_BLC_CLK/DAT which are signals that can carry either I2C or be used as HPD for eDP0/1. Only eDP0 is routed from RK3399 Puma SoM but only exposed on Haikou through the Video Connector, a fake PCIe connector. So to be able to use eDP one would need to use a Device Tree overlay. Therefore, let's default to having an EEPROM in Haikou carrierboard DTS. I2S0 is routed to the Q7 golden fingers and, on Haikou carrierboard, to an I2S codec. Nothing aside from signal routing is done on the SoM, therefore it's the duty of the carrierboard to enable I2S0 whenever an I2S codec is present. Such is the case of the Haikou carrierboard, therefore let's migrate the enabling of this controller to the carrierboard DTS instead of the SoM DTSI. In its default configuration (SW2 on "UART1"), UART5 is exposed on the DB9 RS232/RS485 connector. While the same signals are also exposed on Q7_GPIO5 and Q7_GPIO6, a GPIO header, and thus could be used for other purposes, RK3399 Puma Haikou and PX30 Ringneck Haikou do enable the UART controller exposed on the DB9 connector, so let's keep consistency across our modules and enable it on RK3588 Tiger Haikou by default too. Add a comment while at it to explicit where this controller is routed to. Since nearly all starter kit mainboards for i.MX based SoM by TQ-Systems use the same codec with the same routing on board it is a good idea to use the same mode name for the sound card. This allows sharing a default asound.conf in BSP over all the kits. bootph-all as phase tag was added to dt-schema (dtschema/schemas/bootph.yaml) to describe various node usage during boot phases with DT. Add bootph-all for all nodes that are used in the bootloader on Renesas RZ/G2 SoCs. All SoC require CPG clock and its input clock, RST Reset, PFC pin control and PRR ID register access during all stages of the boot process, those are marked using bootph-all property, and so is the SoC bus node which contains these IP. Each board console UART is also marked as bootph-all to make it available in all stages of the boot process.
