2023-06-21ARM: dts: Move .dts files to vendor sub-directoriesRob Herring
The arm dts directory has grown to 1559 boards which makes it a bit unwieldy to maintain and use. Past attempts stalled out due to plans to move .dts files out of the kernel tree. Doing that is no longer planned (any time soon at least), so let's go ahead and group .dts files by vendors. This move aligns arm with arm64 .dts file structure. There's no change to dtbs_install as the flat structure is maintained on install. The naming of vendor directories is roughly in this order of preference: - Matching original and current SoC vendor prefix/name (e.g. ti, qcom) - Current vendor prefix/name if still actively sold (SoCs which have been aquired) (e.g. nxp/imx) - Existing platform name for older platforms not sold/maintained by any company (e.g. gemini, nspire) The whole move was scripted with the exception of MAINTAINERS and a few makefile fixups. 2023-03-14ARM: dts: imx28-apf28: Convert to use label referencesStefan Wahren
These Armadeus board files still use node name and unit address to reference parts from the imx28.dtsi . This causes a lot of redundancy. So use label references in order to make it easier to maintain. Signed-off-by: Stefan Wahren <stefan.wahren@i2se.com> Cc: <support@armadeus.com> Signed-off-by: Shawn Guo <shawnguo@kernel.org>

2018-09-26ARM: dts: imx: Fix SPI bus warningsRob Herring
dtc has new checks for SPI buses. Fix the warnings in node names and unit-addresses. There's over 100 warnings for FSL boards, a few examples: arch/arm/boot/dts/imx28-duckbill-2-spi.dtb: Warning (spi_bus_bridge): /apb@80000000/apbh@80000000/ssp@80014000: node name for SPI buses should be 'spi' arch/arm/boot/dts/imx53-ppd.dtb: Warning (spi_bus_bridge): /soc/aips@50000000/spba@50000000/ecspi@50010000: node name for SPI buses should be 'spi' arch/arm/boot/dts/imx6dl-colibri-eval-v3.dtb: Warning (spi_bus_reg): /soc/aips-bus@2000000/spba-bus@2000000/spi@2014000/mcp251x@1: SPI bus unit address format error, expected "0" Cc: Shawn Guo <shawnguo@kernel.org> Cc: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de> Cc: Pengutronix Kernel Team <kernel@pengutronix.de> Cc: Fabio Estevam <fabio.estevam@nxp.com> Cc: NXP Linux Team <linux-imx@nxp.com> Cc: Li Yang <leoyang.li@nxp.com> Cc: Stefan Agner <stefan@agner.ch> Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org> Reviewed-by: Fabio Estevam <fabio.estevam@nxp.com> Acked-by: Stefan Agner <stefan@agner.ch> Signed-off-by: Shawn Guo <shawnguo@kernel.org>
2016-06-11ARM: dts: imx28: Use generic uart-has-rtscts DT propertyGeert Uytterhoeven
As of commit 182cdcb8bb16e687 ("serial: mxs-auart: Use generic uart-has-rtscts DT property"), the Freescale MXS AUART driver recognizes the generic "uart-has-rtscts" DT property, deprecating the vendor-specific "fsl,uart-has-rtscts" DT property. Hence replace the latter by the former in all DTS files. Signed-off-by: Geert Uytterhoeven <geert+renesas@glider.be> Signed-off-by: Shawn Guo <shawnguo@kernel.org>
2016-02-29ARM: dts: imx: replace legacy wakeup property with 'wakeup-source'Sudeep Holla
Though the keyboard and other driver will continue to support the legacy "gpio-key,wakeup", "linux, wakeup" and "enable-sdio-wakeup" boolean property to enable the wakeup source, "wakeup-source" is the new standard binding. This patch replaces all the legacy wakeup properties with the unified "wakeup-source" property in order to avoid any futher copy-paste duplication. Convert mx23/mx28 dts filed to use the pinctrl header files. NOTE: During automatic conversion of these files to use the pinconfig definitions an inconsistency has been found in: arch/arm/boot/dts/imx28-apx4devkit.dts According to the comment the function for pad SSP2_SS0 should have been MX28_PAD_SSP2_SS0__GPIO_2_19, while the given value 0x2131 represents: MX28_PAD_SSP2_SS0__AUART3_TX I used the later (though probably wrong) definition because that's what is actually being used in the DTB.
