timer_delete[_sync]() replaces del_timer[_sync](). Convert the whole tree
over and remove the historical wrapper inlines.
Conversion was done with coccinelle plus manual fixups where necessary.

Lazy flushing of TPM auth sessions can interact badly with IMA + kexec,
resulting in loaded session handles being leaked across the kexec and
not cleaned up. Fix by ensuring any active auth session is ended before
the TPM is told about the shutdown, matching what is done when
suspending.

The TCG ACPI spec v1.4 defines a start method for the TPMs implemented with
the ARM CRB over FF-A ABI.
Add support for the FF-A start method, and use interfaces provided by the
ffa_crb driver to interact with the FF-A based TPM.

The ARM specification TPM Service CRB over FF-A specification defines the
FF-A messages to interact with a CRB-based TPM implemented as an FF-A
secure partition.

This driver is probed when a TPM Secure Partition is discovered by the FF-A
subsystem. It exposes APIs used by the TPM CRB driver to send notifications
to the TPM.

The `state` member in `struct ftpm_tee_private` is in the documentation,
but it has never been in the implementation since the commit 09e574831b27
("tpm/tpm_ftpm_tee: A driver for firmware TPM running inside TEE") that
introduced it.
Remove it to have a match between documentation and implementation.

Some Infineon devices have a issue where the status register will get
stuck with a quick REQUEST_USE / COMMAND_READY sequence. This is not
simply a matter of requiring a longer timeout; the work around is to
retry the command submission. Add appropriate logic to do this in the
send path.
This is fixed in later firmware revisions, but those are not always
available, and cannot generally be easily updated from outside a
firmware environment.
Testing has been performed with a simple repeated loop of doing a
TPM2_CC_GET_CAPABILITY for TPM_CAP_PROP_MANUFACTURER using the Go code
at:
https://the.earth.li/~noodles/tpm-stuff/timeout-reproducer-simple.go
It can take several hours to reproduce, and several million operations.

The change to only use interrupts to handle supported status changes
introduced an issue when it is necessary to poll for the status. Rather
than checking for the status after sleeping the code now sleeps after
the check. This means a correct, but slower, status change on the part
of the TPM can be missed, resulting in a spurious timeout error,
especially on a more loaded system. Switch back to sleeping *then*
checking. An up front check of the status has been done at the start of
the function, so this does not cause an additional delay when the status
is already what we're looking for.

TPM2 sessions have been flushed lazily since commit df745e25098dc ("tpm:
Lazily flush the auth session"). If /dev/tpm{rm}0 is not accessed
in-between two in-kernel calls, it is possible that a TPM2 session is
re-started before the previous one has been completed.
This causes a spurios warning in a legit run-time condition, which is also
correctly addressed with a fast return path:

Address the issue by changing dev_warn_once() call to a dev_dbg_once()
call.

Lazy flushing of TPM auth sessions was introduced to speed up IMA
measurments into the TPM. Make use of it in tpm2_get_random as well,
which has the added benefit of not needlessly cleaning up the session
that IMA is using when there are no userspace accesses taking place.

Pull VDSO infrastructure updates from Thomas Gleixner:
- Consolidate the VDSO storage
The VDSO data storage and data layout has been largely architecture
specific for historical reasons. That increases the maintenance
effort and causes inconsistencies over and over.
There is no real technical reason for architecture specific layouts
and implementations. The architecture specific details can easily be
integrated into a generic layout, which also reduces the amount of
duplicated code for managing the mappings.
Convert all architectures over to a unified layout and common mapping
infrastructure. This splits the VDSO data layout into subsystem
specific blocks, timekeeping, random and architecture parts, which
provides a better structure and allows to improve and update the
functionalities without conflict and interaction.
- Rework the timekeeping data storage
The current implementation is designed for exposing system
timekeeping accessors, which was good enough at the time when it was
designed.
PTP and Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) change that as there are
requirements to expose independent PTP clocks, which are not related
to system timekeeping.
Replace the monolithic data storage by a structured layout, which
allows to add support for independent PTP clocks on top while reusing
both the data structures and the time accessor implementations.

Pull timer cleanups from Thomas Gleixner:
"A treewide hrtimer timer cleanup
hrtimers are initialized with hrtimer_init() and a subsequent store to
the callback pointer. This turned out to be suboptimal for the
upcoming Rust integration and is obviously a silly implementation to
begin with.
This cleanup replaces the hrtimer_init(T); T->function = cb; sequence
with hrtimer_setup(T, cb);
The conversion was done with Coccinelle and a few manual fixups.
Once the conversion has completely landed in mainline, hrtimer_init()
will be removed and the hrtimer::function becomes a private member"

The tlclk driver does not need to create a platform device, it only did
so because it was simple to do that in order to get a place in sysfs to
hang some device-specific attributes. Change it over to use the faux
device instead as this is NOT a real platform device, and it makes the
code even smaller than before.

The fix to atomically read the pipe head and tail state when not holding
the pipe mutex has caused a number of headaches due to the size change
of the involved types.
It turns out that we don't have _that_ many places that access these
fields directly and were affected, but we have more than we strictly
should have, because our low-level helper functions have been designed
to have intimate knowledge of how the pipes work.
And as a result, that random noise of direct 'pipe->head' and
'pipe->tail' accesses makes it harder to pinpoint any actual potential
problem spots remaining.
For example, we didn't have a "is the pipe full" helper function, but
instead had a "given these pipe buffer indexes and this pipe size, is
the pipe full". That's because some low-level pipe code does actually
want that much more complicated interface.
But most other places literally just want a "is the pipe full" helper,
and not having it meant that those places ended up being unnecessarily
much too aware of this all.
It would have been much better if only the very core pipe code that
cared had been the one aware of this all.
So let's fix it - better late than never. This just introduces the
trivial wrappers for "is this pipe full or empty" and to get how many
pipe buffers are used, so that instead of writing
if (pipe_full(pipe->head, pipe->tail, pipe->max_usage))
the places that literally just want to know if a pipe is full can just
say
if (pipe_is_full(pipe))
instead. The existing trivial cases were converted with a 'sed' script.
This cuts down on the places that access pipe->head and pipe->tail
directly outside of the pipe code (and core splice code) quite a lot.
The splice code in particular still revels in doing the direct low-level
accesses, and the fuse fuse_dev_splice_write() code also seems a bit
unnecessarily eager to go very low-level, but it's at least a bit better
than it used to be.

The RK3588 SoC includes several TRNGs, one part of the Crypto IP block,
and the other one (referred to as "trngv1") as a standalone new IP.
Add support for this new standalone TRNG to the driver by both
generalising it to support multiple different rockchip RNGs and then
implementing the required functionality for the new hardware.
This work was partly based on the downstream vendor driver by Rockchip's
Lin Jinhan, which is why they are listed as a Co-author.
While the hardware does support notifying the CPU with an IRQ when the
random data is ready, I've discovered while implementing the code to use
this interrupt that this results in significantly slower throughput of
the TRNG even when under heavy CPU load. I assume this is because with
only 32 bytes of data per invocation, the overhead of reinitialising a
completion, enabling the interrupt, sleeping and then triggering the
completion in the IRQ handler is way more expensive than busylooping.
Speaking of busylooping, the poll interval for reading the ISTAT is an
atomic read with a delay of 0. In my testing, I've found that this gives
us the largest throughput, and it appears the random data is ready
pretty much the moment we begin polling, as increasing the poll delay
leads to a drop in throughput significant enough to not just be due to
the poll interval missing the ideal timing by a microsecond or two.
According to downstream, the IP should take 1024 clock cycles to
generate 56 bits of random data, which at 150MHz should work out to
6.8us. I did not test whether the data really does take 256/56*6.8us
to arrive, though changing the readl to a __raw_readl makes no
difference in throughput, and this data does pass the rngtest FIPS
checks, so I'm not entirely sure what's going on but I presume it's got
something to do with the AHB bus speed and the memory barriers that
mainline's readl/writel functions insert.
The only other current SoC that uses this new IP is the Rockchip RV1106,
but that SoC does not have mainline support as of the time of writing,
so we make no effort to declare it as supported for now.

Despite assigning a temporary variable the value of &pdev->dev early on
in the probe function, the probe function then continues to use this
construct when it could just use the local dev variable instead.
Simplify this by using the local dev variable directly.

The rockchip rng driver does a dance to store the dev pointer in the
hwrng's unsigned long "priv" member. However, since the struct hwrng
member of rk_rng is not a pointer, we can use container_of to get the
struct rk_rng instance from just the struct hwrng*, which means we don't
have to subvert what little there is in C of a type system and can
instead store a pointer to the device struct in the rk_rng itself.

Extend the generic vDSO data storage with a page for the random state data.
The random state data is stored in a dedicated page, as the existing
storage page is only meant for time-related, time-namespace-aware data.
This simplifies to access logic to not need to handle time namespaces
anymore and also frees up more space in the time-related page.
In case further generic vDSO data store is required it can be added to
the random state page.

When compiling a kernel with GCC using `make W=1` with CONFIG_WERROR=y
(which is default nowadays), the build fails:
drivers/char/virtio_console.c:1427:9: note: ‘snprintf’ output between 9 and 27 bytes into a destination of size 16
Indeed, GCC can't see the limits of the variables that are in use.
Fix this by using dev_name() of the newly created device that is
luckily the same as the string used for the DebugFS node name.

When creating sysfs files fail, the allocated minor must be freed such that
it can be later reused. That is specially harmful for static minor numbers,
since those would always fail to register later on.

initializes the timer completely.
Replace hrtimer_init() and the open coded initialization of
hrtimer::function with the new setup mechanism.

Add runtime power management to the imx-rngc driver. Disable the
peripheral clock when the rngc is idle.
The callback functions from struct hwrng wake the rngc up when they're
called and set it to idle on exit. Helper functions which are invoked
from the callbacks assume that the rngc is active.
Device init and probe are done before runtime pm is enabled. The
peripheral clock will be handled manually during these steps. Do not use
devres any more to enable/disable the peripheral clock, this conflicts
with runtime pm.

Add the const qualifier to all the ctl_tables in the tree except for
watchdog_hardlockup_sysctl, memory_allocation_profiling_sysctls,
loadpin_sysctl_table and the ones calling register_net_sysctl (./net,
drivers/inifiniband dirs). These are special cases as they use a
registration function with a non-const qualified ctl_table argument or
modify the arrays before passing them on to the registration function.
Constifying ctl_table structs will prevent the modification of
proc_handler function pointers as the arrays would reside in .rodata.
This is made possible after commit 78eb4ea25cd5 ("sysctl: treewide:
constify the ctl_table argument of proc_handlers") constified all the
proc_handlers.

The above transcript shows that ACPI pointed a 16 MiB buffer for the log
events because RSI maps to the 'order' parameter of __alloc_pages_noprof().
Address the bug by moving from devm_kmalloc() to devm_add_action() and

kmap_atomic() is deprecated and should be replaced with kmap_local_page()
[1][2]. kmap_local_page() is faster in kernels with HIGHMEM enabled, can
take page faults, and allows preemption.
According to [2], this replacement is safe as long as the code between
kmap_atomic() and kunmap_atomic() does not implicitly depend on disabling
page faults or preemption. In this patch, the only thing happening between
mapping and unmapping the page is a memcpy, and I don't suspect it depends
on disabling page faults or preemption.

misc_minor_alloc was allocating id using ida for minor only in case of
MISC_DYNAMIC_MINOR but misc_minor_free was always freeing ids
using ida_free causing a mismatch and following warn:

Cosmo found that when there is a new request comes in while BMC is
ready for a response, the complete_response(), which is called to
complete the pending response, would accidentally clear out that new
request and force ssif_bmc to move back to abort state again.
This commit is to address that issue.

Return value of ipmi_destroy_user() has no meaning, because it's always
zero and callers can do nothing with it. And in most cases it's not
checked. So make this function return void. This also will eliminate static
code analyzer warnings such as unreachable code/redundant comparison when
the return value is checked against non-zero value.
Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with Svace.

The continual trickle of small conversion patches is grating on me, and
is really not helping. Just get rid of the 'remove_new' member
function, which is just an alias for the plain 'remove', and had a
comment to that effect:

* New drivers are supposed to implement .remove(). Once all drivers are
* converted to not use .remove_new any more, it will be dropped.

This was just a tree-wide 'sed' script that replaced '.remove_new' with
'.remove', with some care taken to turn a subsequent tab into two tabs
to make things line up.
I did do some minimal manual whitespace adjustment for places that used
spaces to line things up.
Then I just removed the old (sic) .remove_new member function, and this
is the end result. No more unnecessary conversion noise.

start accepting (or at least getting) rust drivers.

The PPC64 specific MMIO setup open codes DT address functions rather
than using standard address parsing functions. The open-coded version
fails to handle any address translation and is not endian safe.
I haven't found any evidence of what platform used this. The only thing
that turned up was a PPC405 platform, but that is 32-bit and PPC405
support is being removed as well. CONFIG_TCG_ATMEL is not enabled for
any powerpc config and never was. The support was added in 2005 and
hasn't been touched since.
Rather than try to modernize and fix this code, just remove it.

Move i2c locking primitives to request_locality and relinquish_locality
callbacks, what effectively blocks TPM bus for the whole duration of
logical TPM operation.
With this in place, cr50-equipped TPM may be shared with external CPUs -
assuming that underneath i2c controller driver is aware of this setup
(see i2c-designware-amdpsp as an example).
