2025-05-21wifi: mt76: mt7915: set correct background radar capabilityStanleyYP Wang
Some of the variants do not support background radar, so add a helper to report background radar capability. For mt7916, only the variant of 5G 2T2R + 1R supports background radar. 2025-01-14wifi: mt76: mt7915: add module param to select 5 GHz or 6 GHz on MT7916Shayne Chen
Due to a limitation in available memory, the MT7916 firmware can only handle either 5 GHz or 6 GHz at a time. It does not support runtime switching without a full restart. On older firmware, this accidentally worked to some degree due to missing checks, but couldn't be supported properly, because it left the 6 GHz channels uncalibrated. Newer firmware refuses to start on either band if the passed EEPROM data indicates support for both. Deal with this limitation by using a module parameter to specify the preferred band in case both are supported. 2024-05-02wifi: mt76: mt7915: add fallback in case of missing precal dataFelix Fietkau
When pre-calibration data is missing, do not fail the driver probe. Instead, just print a warning and fall back to regular calibration. Signed-off-by: Felix Fietkau <nbd@nbd.name>
2024-05-02wifi: mt76: mt7915: add mt7986, mt7916 and mt7981 pre-calibrationPeter Chiu
Add pre-calibration for mt7986 and mt7916. It has different data size with mt7915. Group cal needs 54k and 94k for 2G + 5G and 2G + 6G, respectively. DPD cal needs 300k. 2023-12-07wifi: mt76: permit to load precal from NVMEM cell for mt7915Christian Marangi
Permit to load precal from NVMEM cell for mt7915. The NVMEM cell must be named "precal" to be correctly loaded. NVMEM cell must already account the correct offset and be placed after the EEPROM as the function expect the data right from the start. 2023-12-07wifi: mt76: limit support of precal loading for mt7915 to MTD onlyChristian Marangi
Limit support for precal loading for mt7915 only to MTD. Passing data from DT doesn't support offset and NVMEM require a different cell name and doesn't support offset hence only MTD way is actually supported. Rename mt76_get_of_eeprom_from_mtd to mt76_get_of_data_from_mtd as it is now used for a more generic purpose and export it. 2023-07-25wifi: mt76: mt7915: add support for MT7981Alexander Couzens
Add support for the MediaTek MT7981 SoC which is similar to the MT7986 but with a newer IP cores and only 2x ARM Cortex-A53 instead of 4x. Unlike MT7986 the MT7981 can only connect a single wireless frontend, usually MT7976 is used for DBDC. 2023-02-03wifi: mt76: mt7915: add chip id condition in mt7915_check_eeprom()Shayne Chen
When flash mode is enabled, and the eeprom data in the flash is not for the current chipset, it'll still be checked valid, and the default eeprom bin won't be loaded. (e.g., mt7915 NIC inserted with mt7916 eeprom data in the flash.) Fix this kind of case by adding chip id into consideration in mt7915_check_eeprom(). 2022-12-01wifi: mt76: mt7915: Fix chainmask calculation on mt7915 DBDCNicolas Cavallari
mt7915 does not have a per-band number of chains unlike the other chips, it only has a total number of chains. Yet the current code would consider the total number as a per-band number. For example, it would report that a 2x2 + 2x2 DBDC card have 4 chains on each band and set chainmask to 0b1111 for the first interface and 0b11110000 for the second.
