2024-05-02wifi: rtlwifi: Move code from rtl8192de to rtl8192d-commonBitterblue Smith
Create the new module rtl8192d-common and move some code into it from rtl8192de. Now the rtl8192de driver (PCI) and the new rtl8192du driver (USB) can share some of the code. This is mostly the code that required little effort to make it shareable. There are a few more functions which they could share, with more changes. Add phy_iq_calibrate member to struct rtl_hal_ops to allow moving the TX power tracking code from dm.c. The other changes in this patch are adjusting whitespace, renaming some functions, making some arrays const, and making checkpatch.pl less unhappy. rtl8192de is compile-tested only. rtl8192d-common is tested with the new rtl8192du driver. 2024-05-02wifi: rtlwifi: rtl8192de: Fix endianness issue in RX pathBitterblue Smith
Structs rx_desc_92d and rx_fwinfo_92d will not work for big endian systems. Delete rx_desc_92d because it's big and barely used, and instead use the get_rx_desc_rxmcs and get_rx_desc_rxht functions, which work on big endian systems too. Fix rx_fwinfo_92d by duplicating four of its members in the correct order. Tested only with RTL8192DU, which will use the same code. Tested only on a little endian system. 2024-05-02wifi: rtlwifi: rtl8192de: Fix low speed with WPA3-SAEBitterblue Smith
Some (all?) management frames are incorrectly reported to mac80211 as decrypted when actually the hardware did not decrypt them. This results in speeds 3-5 times lower than expected, 20-30 Mbps instead of 100 Mbps. Fix this by checking the encryption type field of the RX descriptor. rtw88 does the same thing. This fix was tested only with rtl8192du, which will use the same code. 2024-05-02wifi: rtlwifi: rtl8192de: Fix 5 GHz TX powerBitterblue Smith
Different channels have different TX power settings. rtl8192de is using the TX power setting from the wrong channel in the 5 GHz band because _rtl92c_phy_get_rightchnlplace expects an array which includes all the channel numbers, but it's using an array which includes only the 5 GHz channel numbers. Use the array channel_all (defined in rtl8192de/phy.c) instead of the incorrect channel5g (defined in core.c). Tested only with rtl8192du, which will use the same TX power code. 2024-01-18wifi: rtlwifi: rtl8192de: Don't read register in _rtl92de_query_rxphystatusBitterblue Smith
Instead of reading bit 9 of RFPGA0_XA_HSSIPARAMETER2 every time a frame is received, just use rtlphy->cck_high_power, which is initialised in _rtl92d_phy_bb_config(). That bit never changes anyway. With this change _rtl92de_query_rxphystatus() can be shared with the upcoming USB driver. The USB driver can't read registers in this function because register reading can sleep. Compile tested only. 2022-08-09wifi: rtlwifi: 8192de: correct checking of IQK reloadPing-Ke Shih
Since IQK could spend time, we make a cache of IQK result matrix that looks like iqk_matrix[channel_idx].val[x][y], and we can reload the matrix if we have made a cache. To determine a cache is made, we check iqk_matrix[channel_idx].val[0][0]. The initial commit 7274a8c22980 ("rtlwifi: rtl8192de: Merge phy routines") make a mistake that checks incorrect iqk_matrix[channel_idx].val[0] that is always true, and this mistake is found by commit ee3db469dd31 ("wifi: rtlwifi: remove always-true condition pointed out by GCC 12"), so I recall the vendor driver to find fix and apply the correctness. 2022-04-11mac80211: prepare sta handling for MLO supportSriram R
Currently in mac80211 each STA object is represented using sta_info datastructure with the associated STA specific information and drivers access ieee80211_sta part of it. With MLO (Multi Link Operation) support being added in 802.11be standard, though the association is logically with a single Multi Link capable STA, at the physical level communication can happen via different advertised links (uniquely identified by Channel, operating class, BSSID) and hence the need to handle multiple link STA parameters within a composite sta_info object called the MLD STA. The different link STA part of MLD STA are identified using the link address which can be same or different as the MLD STA address and unique link id based on the link vif. To support extension of such a model, the sta_info datastructure is modified to hold multiple link STA objects with link specific params currently within sta_info moved to this new structure. Similarly this is done for ieee80211_sta as well which will be accessed within mac80211 as well as by drivers, hence trivial driver changes are expected to support this. For current non MLO supported drivers, only one link STA is present and link information is accessed via 'deflink' member. For MLO drivers, we still need to define the APIs etc. to get the correct link ID and access the correct part of the station info. Currently in mac80211, all link STA info are accessed directly via deflink. These will be updated to access via link pointers indexed by link id with MLO support patches, with link id being 0 for non MLO supported cases. Except for couple of macro related changes, below spatch takes care of updating mac80211 and driver code to access to the link STA info via deflink. @ieee80211_sta@ struct ieee80211_sta *s; struct sta_info *si; identifier var = {supp_rates, ht_cap, vht_cap, he_cap, he_6ghz_capa, eht_cap, rx_nss, bandwidth, txpwr}; @@ ( s-> - var + deflink.var | si->sta. - var + deflink.var ) @sta_info@ struct sta_info *si; identifier var = {gtk, pcpu_rx_stats, rx_stats, rx_stats_avg, status_stats, tx_stats, cur_max_bandwidth}; @@ ( si-> - var + deflink.var ) Signed-off-by: Sriram R <quic_srirrama@quicinc.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/1649086883-13246-1-git-send-email-quic_srirrama@quicinc.com [remove MLO-drivers notes from commit message, not clear yet; run spatch] Signed-off-by: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@intel.com>

2019-12-18rtlwifi: rtl8192de: Convert inline routines to little-endian wordsLarry Finger
In this step, the read/write routines for the descriptors are converted to use __le32 quantities, thus a lot of casts can be removed. Callback routines still use the 8-bit arrays, but these are changed within the specified routine. 2019-12-18rtlwifi: rtl8192de: Convert macros that set descriptorLarry Finger
As a first step in the conversion, the macros that set the RX and TX descriptors are converted to static inline routines, and the names are changed from upper to lower case. To minimize the changes in a given step, the input descriptor information is left as as a byte array (u8 *), even though it should be a little-endian word array (__le32 *). That will be changed in the next patch. Several places where checkpatch.pl complains about a space after a cast and other warnings are fixed. 2019-12-18rtlwifi: rtl8192de: Replace local bit manipulation macrosLarry Finger
This driver uses a set of local macros to manipulate the RX and TX descriptors, which are all little-endian quantities. These macros are replaced by the bitfield macros le32p_replace_bits() and le32_get_bits(). In several places, the macros operated on an entire 32-bit word. In these cases, a direct read or replacement is used. Signed-off-by: Larry Finger <Larry.Finger@lwfinger.net> Signed-off-by: Kalle Valo <kvalo@codeaurora.org>

2019-05-28rtlwifi: 8192de: Fix used uninitialized variables in power trackingPing-Ke Shih
ofdm_index_old[] is the index of ofdmswing_table[], and used to indicate initial value of ROFDM0_X{A,B}TXIQIMBALANCE in rtl8192de_phy_reg_2tarray[] table, and the initial value is corresponding to calibration thermal value written in efuse, namely rtlefuse->eeprom_thermalmeter. Then, local variable ofdm_index_old[] save to rtlpriv->dm.ofdm_index[] for operational use. If thermal value (temperature) is increasing, output TX power is lower. So, we calculate the delta between current and calibration thermal value, then add power to yield expected and the same output TX power. Thus, ofdm_index[] should be initialized as rtlpriv->dm.ofdm_index[], and shift to proper index depends on delta of thermal value. Then, new power value ofdmswing_table[ofdm_index[]] is written to register.
