The dtbinding have imx7ulp and imx8ulp compatible with imx7d before. And then the dtb follow the dtbinding. However, the driver doesn't add imx8ulp compatible now. To make imx8ulp work well, this will add support for it. 2023-07-25usb: chipidea: imx: add one fsl picophy parameter tuning implementationXu Yang
In some cases, the user may need to tune the rise/fall time of the high-speed transmitter waveform for USB Certification. This will add a parameter for this purpose. The value will be fetched from dtb and finally written to the register. In current driver, the value of tuning parameter will not take effect if samsung,picophy-* is assigned as 0. Because 0 is also a valid value acccording to the description of USB_PHY_CFG1 register, this will improve the logic to let it work. 2023-07-25usb: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. As we use bvalid for vbus wakeup source, to save power when suspend, turn off the vbus comparator for imx7d and imx8mm. Below is this bit description from RM of iMX8MM "VBUS Valid Comparator Enable: This signal controls the USB OTG PHY VBUS Valid comparator which indicates whether the voltage on the USB_OTG*_VBUS pin is below the VBUS Valid threshold. The VBUS Valid threshold is nominally 4.75V on this USB PHY. The VBUS Valid threshold can be adjusted using the USBNC_OTGn_PHY_CFG1[OTGTUNE0] bit field. Status of the VBUS Valid comparator, when it is enabled, is reported on the USBNC_OTGn_PHY_STATUS[VBUS_VLD] bit. When OTGDISABLE0 (USBNC_USB_OTGx_PHY_CFG2[10])is set to 1'b0 and DRVVBUS0 is set to 1'b1, the Bandgap circuitry and VBUS Valid comparator are powered, even in Suspend or Sleep mode. 2021-06-16usb: chipidea: imx: Fix Battery Charger 1.2 CDP detectionBreno Lima
i.MX8MM cannot detect certain CDP USB HUBs. usbmisc_imx.c driver is not following CDP timing requirements defined by USB BC 1.2 specification and section 3.2.4 Detection Timing CDP. During Primary Detection the i.MX device should turn on VDP_SRC and IDM_SINK for a minimum of 40ms (TVDPSRC_ON). After a time of TVDPSRC_ON, the i.MX is allowed to check the status of the D- line. Current implementation is waiting between 1ms and 2ms, and certain BC 1.2 complaint USB HUBs cannot be detected. Increase delay to 40ms allowing enough time for primary detection. During secondary detection the i.MX is required to disable VDP_SRC and IDM_SNK, and enable VDM_SRC and IDP_SINK for at least 40ms (TVDMSRC_ON). Current implementation is not disabling VDP_SRC and IDM_SNK, introduce disable sequence in imx7d_charger_secondary_detection() function. VDM_SRC and IDP_SINK should be enabled for at least 40ms (TVDMSRC_ON). Increase delay allowing enough time for detection. If runtime dr_mode is not dual-role, it doesn't need to enable ID wakeup interrupt. If runtime dr_mode is host, it doesn't need to enable VBUS wakeup interrupt. With these changes, the user will not get the unexpected wakeup for single role use case. 2020-05-06usb: chipidea: usbmisc_imx: using different ops for imx7d and imx7ulpPeter Chen
imx7ulp uses different USB PHY with imx7d (MXS PHY vs PICO PHY), so the features are supported by non-core register are a little different. For example, autoresume feature is supported by all controllers for imx7ulp, but for imx7d, it is only supported by non-HSIC controller. Besides, these two platforms use different HSIC controller, imx7ulp needs software operation, but imx7d doesn't. Signed-off-by: Peter Chen <peter.chen@nxp.com>

2019-02-27usb: chipidea: imx: set power polarityPhilipp Puschmann
This patch adds support to set the power line polarity for i.MX SoCs. To let the USB controller control the power it may be necessary to configure the polarity of the power line. 2018-12-11usb: chipidea: imx: allow to configure oc polarity on i.MX25Uwe Kleine-König
Up to now the polarity of the over current pin was hard coded to active high. Use the already defined device tree properties to configure polarity on i.MX25, too. 2018-12-11usb: chipidea: imx: support configuring for active low oc signalUwe Kleine-König
The status quo on i.MX6 is that if "over-current-active-high" is specified in the device tree this is configured as expected. If the property is missing polarity isn't changed and so the polarity is kept as setup by the bootloader. Reset default is active high, so active low can only be used with help by the bootloader. On i.MX7 it is similar, but there disabling of over current detection has a similar inconsistency. This patch introduces a new property that allows to explicitly configure for active low over current detection and consistently sets this up. In the absence of an explicit configuration the bit is kept as is. On i.MX7 over current detection is used unless disabled in the device tree. 2017-11-07USB: chipidea: Remove redundant license textGreg Kroah-Hartman
Now that the SPDX tag is in all USB files, that identifies the license in a specific and legally-defined manner. So the extra GPL text wording can be removed as it is no longer needed at all. This is done on a quest to remove the 700+ different ways that files in the kernel describe the GPL license text. And there's unneeded stuff like the address (sometimes incorrect) for the FSF which is never needed. No copyright headers or other non-license-description text was removed. 2017-11-04USB: add SPDX identifiers to all remaining files in drivers/usb/Greg Kroah-Hartman
It's good to have SPDX identifiers in all files to make it easier to audit the kernel tree for correct licenses. Update the drivers/usb/ and include/linux/usb* files with the correct SPDX license identifier based on the license text in the file itself. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. All imx usb controller's non core registers uses the same clock gate with core registers, the usbmisc_imx is the library for imx glue driver, the glue keeps clock on when it calls usbmisc_imx API to change non-core register. Besides, we will support runtime pm in the future, it also needs to close this clock when the usb is not in use. Philipp Zabel also verifies it at imx6q platform, see http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-usb/msg118491.html Cc: Philipp Zabel <p.zabel@pengutronix.de> Signed-off-by: Peter Chen <peter.chen@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/driver-core Pull driver core update from Greg KH: "Here's the set of driver core patches for 3.19-rc1. They are dominated by the removal of the .owner field in platform drivers. They touch a lot of files, but they are "simple" changes, just removing a line in a structure. Other than that, a few minor driver core and debugfs changes. There are some ath9k patches coming in through this tree that have been acked by the wireless maintainers as they relied on the debugfs changes. Everything has been in linux-next for a while" * tag 'driver-core-3.19-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/driver-core: (324 commits) Revert "ath: ath9k: use debugfs_create_devm_seqfile() helper for seq_file entries" fs: debugfs: add forward declaration for struct device type firmware class: Deletion of an unnecessary check before the function call "vunmap" firmware loader: fix hung task warning dump devcoredump: provide a one-way disable function device: Add dev_<level>_once variants ath: ath9k: use debugfs_create_devm_seqfile() helper for seq_file entries ath: use seq_file api for ath9k debugfs files debugfs: add helper function to create device related seq_file drivers/base: cacheinfo: remove noisy error boot message Revert "core: platform: add warning if driver has no owner" drivers: base: support cpu cache information interface to userspace via sysfs drivers: base: add cpu_device_create to support per-cpu devices topology: replace custom attribute macros with standard DEVICE_ATTR* cpumask: factor out show_cpumap into separate helper function driver core: Fix unbalanced device reference in drivers_probe driver core: fix race with userland in device_add() sysfs/kernfs: make read requests on pre-alloc files use the buffer. sysfs/kernfs: allow attributes to request write buffer be pre-allocated. fs: sysfs: return EGBIG on write if offset is larger than file size ...
