__tty_alloc_driver()'s kernel-doc needed some care: describe the return value using the standard "Returns:", and use the new enum tty_driver_flag for @flags. Then, the tty_alloc_driver() macro was undocumented, but referenced many times in the docs. Copy the docs from the above (except the @owner parameter, obviously). Convert TTY_DRIVER_* macros (flags) to an enum. This allows for easier kernel-doc (the comment needed fine tuning), grouping of these nicely, and proper checking. Given these are flags, define them using modern BIT() instead of hex constants. It turns out (thanks, kernel-doc checker) that internal TTY_DRIVER_INSTALLED was undocumented. Fix that too. 2025-03-20tty: convert "TTY Struct Flags" to an enumJiri Slaby (SUSE)
Convert TTY_* macros (flags) to an enum. This allows for easier kernel-doc (the comment needed fine tuning), grouping of these nicely, and proper checking. Note that these are bit positions. So they are used such as test_bit(TTY_THROTTLED, ...). Given these are not the user API (only in-kernel API/ABI), the bit positions are NOT preserved in this patch. All are renumbered naturally using the enum-auto-numbering. 2025-03-14cxl/pci: Support Global Persistent Flush (GPF)Davidlohr Bueso
Add support for GPF flows. It is found that the CXL specification around this to be a bit too involved from the driver side. And while this should really all handled by the hardware, this patch takes things with a grain of salt. Upon respective port enumeration, both phase timeouts are set to a max of 20 seconds, which is the NMI watchdog default for lockup detection. The premise is that the kernel does not have enough information to set anything better than a max across the board and hope devices finish their GPF flows within the platform energy budget. Timeout detection is based on dirty Shutdown semantics. The driver will mark it as dirty, expecting that the device clear it upon a successful GPF event. The admin may consult the device Health and check the dirty shutdown counter to see if there was a problem with data integrity. 2025-02-21pps: generators: replace copy of pps-gen info struct with const pointerSubramanian Mohan
Some PPS generator drivers may need to retrieve a pointer to their internal data while executing the PPS generator enable() method. During the driver registration the pps_gen_device pointer is returned from the framework, and for that reason, there is difficulty in getting generator driver data back in the enable function. We won't be able to use container_of macro as it results in static assert, and we might end up in using static pointer. To solve the issue and to get back the generator driver data back, we should not copy the struct pps_gen_source_info within the struct pps_gen_device during the registration stage, but simply save the pointer of the driver one. With 'async', iaa_crypto calls to compress/decompress submit the descriptor and return -EINPROGRESS, without any mechanism in the driver to poll for completions. Hence callers such as test_acomp() in crypto/testmgr.c or zswap, that wrap the calls to crypto_acomp_compress() and crypto_acomp_decompress() in synchronous wrappers, will block indefinitely. Even before zswap can notice this problem, the crypto testmgr.c's test_acomp() will fail and prevent registration of "deflate-iaa" as a valid crypto acomp algorithm, thereby disallowing the use of "deflate-iaa" as a zswap compress (zswap will fall-back to the default compressor in this case). To fix this issue, this patch modifies the iaa_crypto sync_mode set function to treat 'async' equivalent to 'sync', so that the correct and only supported driver async polling without interrupts implementation is enabled, and zswap can use 'deflate-iaa' as the compressor. The iaa_crypto documentation has also been updated to mention this caveat with 'async' and what to expect with this fix. True iaa_crypto async polling without interrupts is enabled in patch "crypto: iaa - Implement batch_compress(), batch_decompress() API in iaa_crypto."
