2024-11-26irqchip: Switch back to struct platform_driver::remove()Uwe Kleine-König
After commit 0edb555a65d1 ("platform: Make platform_driver::remove() return void") .remove() is (again) the right callback to implement for platform drivers. Convert all platform drivers below drivers/irqchip/ to use .remove(), with the eventual goal to drop struct platform_driver::remove_new(). As .remove() and .remove_new() have the same prototypes, conversion is done by just changing the structure member name in the driver initializer. 2024-11-22Fix a potential abuse of seq_printf() format string in driversDavid Wang
Using device name as format string of seq_printf() is proned to "Format string attack", opens possibility for exploitation. Seq_puts() is safer and more efficient. 2024-06-23irqchip: Add missing MODULE_DESCRIPTION() macrosJeff Johnson
On x86, make allmodconfig && make W=1 C=1 reports: WARNING: modpost: missing MODULE_DESCRIPTION() in drivers/irqchip/irq-ts4800.o WARNING: modpost: missing MODULE_DESCRIPTION() in drivers/irqchip/irq-meson-gpio.o Add the missing invocation of the MODULE_DESCRIPTION() macro to all files which have a MODULE_LICENSE(). This includes a 3rd file, irq-mvebu-pic.c, which did not produce a warning with the x86 allmodconfig, but which may cause this warning with other kernel configurations. 2024-02-27irqchip/mvebu-pic: Convert to platform_driver::remove_new() callbackUwe Kleine-König
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new(), which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers are converted, .remove_new() will be renamed to .remove(). Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove callback to the void returning variant. 2022-02-15irqchip/mvebu-pic: Switch to dynamic chip name outputMarc Zyngier
Instead of overriding the name field, track the corresponding device and use the relevant callback to output its name. This allows us to make the irq_chip structure const. 2016-08-22irqchip/mvebu-pic: New driver for Marvell Armada 7K/8K PICThomas Petazzoni
The Marvell Armada 7K/8K integrates a secondary interrupt controller very originally named "PIC". It is connected to the main GIC via a PPI. Amongst other things, this PIC is used for the ARM PMU. This commit adds a simple irqchip driver for this interrupt controller. Since this interrupt controller is not needed early at boot time, we make the driver a proper platform driver rather than use the IRQCHIP_DECLARE() mechanism.
