2025-11-06soc: qcom: socinfo: Add reserve field to support future extensionMukesh Ojha
Some of the new field added to socinfo structure with version 21, 22 and 23 which is only used by boot firmware and it is of no use for Linux.Add reserve field in socinfo so that the structure remain updated and prepared if we get any new field in future which could be used by Linux. While at it, also updates switch case for backward compatibility if the SoC runs with boot firmware which has these new version added. 2025-11-06soc: qcom: socinfo: Add support for new fields in revision 20Mukesh Ojha
Add support for socinfo version 20. Version 20 adds a new field package id and its zeroth bit contain information that can be can be used to tune temperature thresholds on devices which might be able to withstand higher temperatures. Zeroth bit value 1 means that its heat dissipation is better and more relaxed thermal scheme can be put in place and 0 means a more aggressive scheme may be needed. 2025-09-17soc: qcom: geni-se: Add support to load QUP SE Firmware via Linux subsystemViken Dadhaniya
In Qualcomm SoCs, firmware loading for Serial Engines (SE) within the QUP hardware has traditionally been managed by TrustZone (TZ). This restriction poses a significant challenge for developers, as it limits their ability to enable various protocols on any of the SEs from the Linux side, reducing flexibility. Load the firmware to QUP SE based on the 'firmware-name' property specified in devicetree at bootup time. 2025-07-04drm/msm: Use the central UBWC config databaseKonrad Dybcio
As discussed a lot in the past, the UBWC config must be coherent across a number of IP blocks (currently display and GPU, but it also may/will concern camera/video as the drivers evolve). So far, we've been trying to keep the values reasonable in each of the two drivers separately, but it really make sense to do so centrally, especially given certain fields (e.g. HBB) may need to be gathered dynamically. To reduce room for error, move to fetching the config from a central source, so that the data programmed into the hardware is consistent across all multimedia blocks that request it. Cancelling an rx command is signalled using bit 14 of the rx DMA status register and not bit 11. This bit is currently unused, but this error becomes apparent, for example, when tracing the status register when closing the port. 2024-10-05EDAC/qcom: Make irq configuration optionalRajendra Nayak
On most modern qualcomm SoCs, the configuration necessary to enable the Tag/Data RAM related irqs being propagated to the SoC irq controller is already done in firmware (in DSF or 'DDR System Firmware') On some like the x1e80100, these registers aren't even accesible to the kernel causing a crash when edac device is probed. Hence, make the irq configuration optional in the driver and mark x1e80100 as the SoC on which this should be avoided. As pointed out by Stephen Boyd it is possible that during initialization of the pmic_glink child drivers, the protection-domain notifiers fires, and the associated work is scheduled, before the client registration returns and as a result the local "client" pointer has been initialized. The outcome of this is a NULL pointer dereference as the "client" pointer is blindly dereferenced. 2024-07-03driver core: have match() callback in struct bus_type take a const *Greg Kroah-Hartman
In the match() callback, the struct device_driver * should not be changed, so change the function callback to be a const *. This is one step of many towards making the driver core safe to have struct device_driver in read-only memory. Because the match() callback is in all busses, all busses are modified to handle this properly. This does entail switching some container_of() calls to container_of_const() to properly handle the constant *. For some busses, like PCI and USB and HV, the const * is cast away in the match callback as those busses do want to modify those structures at this point in time (they have a local lock in the driver structure.) Recent (SM8550+ ish) Qualcomm SoCs have a new mechanism for precisely identifying the specific SKU and the precise speed bin (in the general meaning of this word, anyway): a pair of values called Product Code and Feature Code. Based on this information, we can deduce the available frequencies for things such as Adreno. In the case of Adreno specifically, Pcode is useless for non-prototype SoCs. Introduce a getter for the feature code and export it. Until SM8450, there was only one broadcast region (Broadcast_OR) used to broadcast write and check for status bit 0. >From SM8450 onwards another broadcast region (Broadcast_AND) has been added which checks for status bit 1. This hasn't been updated and Broadcast_OR region was wrongly being used to check for status bit 1 all along. Hence define new regmap structure for Broadcast_AND region and initialize this regmap when HW block version is greater than 4.1, otherwise initialize as a NULL pointer for backwards compatibility. Switch from broadcast_OR to broadcast_AND region (when defined in DT) for checking status bit 1 as Broadcast_OR region checks only for bit 0. In fact, there aren't any changes to the clk framework this time around. That's probably because everyone was on vacation (yours truly included). We did lose a couple clk drivers this time around because nobody was using those devices. That skews the diffstat a bit, but either way, nothing looks out of the ordinary here. The usual suspects are chugging along adding support for more SoCs and fixing bugs. If I had to choose, I'd say the theme for the past few months has been "polish". There's quite a few patches that migrate to devm_platform_ioremap_resource() in here. And there's more than a handful of patches that move the NR_CLKS define from the DT binding header to the driver. There's even patches that migrate drivers to use clk_parent_data and clk_hw to describe clk tree topology. It seems that the spring (summer?) cleaning bug got some folks, or the semiconductor shortage finally hit the software side. 2023-08-13soc: qcom: aoss: Move length requirements from callerBjorn Andersson
The existing implementation of qmp_send() requires the caller to provide a buffer which is of word-aligned. The underlying reason for this is that message ram only supports word accesses, but pushing this requirement onto the clients results in the same boiler plate code sprinkled in every call site. By using a temporary buffer in qmp_send() we can hide the underlying hardware limitations from the clients and allow them to pass their NUL-terminates C string directly.
