2025-05-21wifi: mt76: mt76x2: Add support for LiteOn WN4516R,WN4519RHenk Vergonet
Adds support for: - LiteOn WN4516R - LiteOn WN4519R Both use: - A nonstandard USB connector - Mediatek chipset MT7600U - ASIC revision: 76320044 Disabled VHT support on ASIC revision 76320044: This fixes the 5G connectibity issue on LiteOn WN4519R module see https://github.com/openwrt/mt76/issues/971 And may also fix the 5G issues on the XBox One Wireless Adapter see https://github.com/openwrt/mt76/issues/200 I have looked at the FCC info related to the MT7632U chip as mentioned in here: https://github.com/openwrt/mt76/issues/459 These confirm the chipset does not support 'ac' mode and hence VHT should be turned of. 2025-03-19wifi: mt76: mt76x2u: add TP-Link TL-WDN6200 ID to device tableIcenowy Zheng
The TP-Link TL-WDN6200 "Driverless" version cards use a MT7612U chipset. Add the USB ID to mt76x2u driver. Signed-off-by: Icenowy Zheng <uwu@icenowy.me> Link: https://patch.msgid.link/20250317102235.1421726-1-uwu@icenowy.me Signed-off-by: Felix Fietkau <nbd@nbd.name>
2025-03-19wifi: mt76: only mark tx-status-failed frames as ACKed on mt76x0/2Felix Fietkau
The interrupt status polling is unreliable, which can cause status events to get lost. On all newer chips, txs-timeout is an indication that the packet was either never sent, or never acked. Fixes issues with inactivity polling. Link: https://patch.msgid.link/20250311103646.43346-6-nbd@nbd.name Signed-off-by: Felix Fietkau <nbd@nbd.name>
2025-01-27wifi: mt76: move napi_enable() from under BHJakub Kicinski
mt76 does a lot of: local_bh_disable(); napi_enable(...napi); napi_schedule(...napi); local_bh_enable(); local_bh_disable() is not a real lock, its most likely taken because napi_schedule() requires that we invoke softirqs at some point. napi_enable() needs to take a mutex, so move it from under the BH protection. 2024-02-08wifi: mac80211: simplify non-chanctx driversJohannes Berg
There are still surprisingly many non-chanctx drivers, but in mac80211 that code is a bit awkward. Simplify this by having those drivers assign 'emulated' ops, so that the mac80211 code can be more unified between non-chanctx/chanctx drivers. This cuts the number of places caring about it by about 15, which are scattered across - now they're fewer and no longer in the channel context handling. 2023-09-22wifi: mt76: mt76x02: fix MT76x0 external LNA gain handlingFelix Fietkau

2023-08-25Fix nomenclature for USB and PCI wireless devicesAlan Stern
A mouse that uses a USB connection is called a "USB mouse" device (or "USB mouse" for short), not a "mouse USB" device. By analogy, a WiFi adapter that connects to the host computer via USB is a "USB wireless" device, not a "wireless USB" device. (The latter term more properly refers to a defunct Wireless USB specification, which described a technology for sending USB protocol messages over an ultra wideband radio link.) Similarly for a WiFi adapter card that plugs into a PCIe slot: It is a "PCIe wireless" device, not a "wireless PCIe" device. Rephrase the text in the kernel source where the word ordering is wrong. 2020-05-12mt76: mt76x2: disable merge of OTP ROM data by defaultFelix Fietkau
The reference driver does not seem to enable it by default, only under certain conditions, e.g. when a .bin file is loaded. Make it opt-in via a device tree property for now, in case it is needed on some boards. Signed-off-by: Felix Fietkau <nbd@nbd.name>
2020-05-12mt76: mt76x2u: introduce Mercury UD13 supportLorenzo Bianconi

2020-05-12mt76: mt76x02u: Add support for newer versions of the XBox One wifi adapterMatthew Garrett
The current version has a new USB ID and reports as an 0x7632 device. Adding the IDs results in it working out of the box. Signed-off-by: Matthew Garrett <mjg59@google.com> Signed-off-by: Felix Fietkau <nbd@nbd.name>
2020-05-12mt76: mt76x02: fix handling MCU timeouts during hw restartFelix Fietkau
If a MCU timeout occurs before a hw restart completes, another hw restart is scheduled, and the station state gets corrupted. To speed up dealing with that, do not issue any MCU commands after the first timeout, and defer handling timeouts until the reset has completed. Also ignore errors in MCU commands during start/config to avoid making user space fail on this condition. If it happens, another restart is scheduled quickly, and that usually recovers the hardware properly. Signed-off-by: Felix Fietkau <nbd@nbd.name>
2020-02-14mt76: mt76x2: avoid starting the MAC too earlyFelix Fietkau
Do not set the tx/rx start bits in MT_MAC_SYS_CTRL from within initvals. The driver sets these later when the hardware is ready Signed-off-by: Felix Fietkau <nbd@nbd.name>
2020-02-14mt76: avoid extra RCU synchronization on station removalFelix Fietkau
Use sta_pre_rcu_remove callback to clear wcid pointer earlier Signed-off-by: Felix Fietkau <nbd@nbd.name>
2020-02-14mt76: mt76u: add {read/write}_extended utility routinesLorenzo Bianconi
Introduce extended utility routines to read/write data o usb bus. New devices (e.g. mt7663u) will rely on both upper and lower part of the register address. Add ext parameter to mt76u_init signature in order to reuse the code adding mt7663u support.
